Mr. Clayton Thomas "Tom" Knipp, age 61, of Oldtown, died Saturday, Jan. 21, 2017, at his residence.
He was born Oct. 19, 1955, in Carter County, a son of Estill Clayton Knipp of Olive Hill, and the late Glenna Jean Paynter Knipp.
Tom was a life-long mechanic and enjoyed going to bluegrass festivals and spending time with family and friends.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife of 37 years, Thelma Bradford Knipp; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Kevin and Missy Pugh of Lexington, Ohio, and K.C. Knipp of Oldtown; one daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Darrell Williams of Puyallup, Washington; four grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, Phillip and Lisa Knipp of Corbin; and three sisters and brothers-in-law, Jo Ann and Dallas Boggs and Kim and Kenny Cochran, all of Worthington, and Cheryl and Dewey Stevens of Crestline, Ohio. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2017, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, with Brother Bobby Day officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Carter County.
Friends may visit from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2017, and until the service hour on Wednesday at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Highway 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky 41164.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
