Christine Patton Layne, age 84, of Olive Hill, KY left her earthly home on Saturday afternoon July 30, 2016 at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, to enter the gates of her heavenly home.
Christine was the daughter of the late Almo and Mary Kiser Patton born Oct. 22, 1931 in Carter County.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 41 years, David Layne, a granddaughter, Christy Frazier, three great grandchildren, Caden Jones, Christopher Jones, Kendrah Hicks, and one brother, Lloyd Patton.
Christine was a Christian & attended Ross Chapel Christian Holiness church most of her spiritual life. She was well known in the community as being an excellent cook and a terrific gardener. She has been the co-owner of a country store and worked at greeting card finishing companies when it fit into her schedule. She was a wonderful neighbor and a beloved sister, aunt, mother, grandmother & great grandmother. Her strength, courage, kindness and faith were a shining example to her family and all that knew her.
Christine is survived by one daughter, Debbie Frazier, one son, David Jeffery (Della) Layne of Olive Hill, three granddaughters, Chesla Blaydes Fox of Olive Hill, Erica Layne Pillion and Kara Beth Layne of Winchester, three great grandchildren, Blayde Fox and Ryan Fox of Olive Hill, Madison Pillion of Winchester, one sister Rosalee (Roger) Hicks of Maineville, Ohio, one brother, James Patton of Olive Hill, and numerous special nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be conducted 2:00 PM Sunday Aug. 7, 2016 at the Duvall & Moore Funeral Home with her nephew Bro. Scott Patton and Bro. Eddie Porter officiating. Burial will follow in the Melvin Erwin Cemetery in Olive Hill with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Friends may call 5-9 PM Saturday Aug. 6, 2016 and after 9 AM Sunday Aug. 7 at the Duvall & Moore Funeral Home, 149 Whitt Street, Olive Hill.
