Charles "Darren" Skaggs, age 51, of Randolph Ridge Road, Elliott County, passed away Monday, June 13, 2016, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead.
Born March 13, 1965, in Mansfield, Ohio, he was a son of the late Charles Elliott Skaggs and Jewell Dean Blankenbeckler Skaggs. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Kendell Skaggs in 1973 and Randell Skaggs in 1978.
Darren is survived by his wife, Vickie Carter Skaggs; one son, Zachary Carter of Elliott County; three daughters, Tina (Josh) Gilliam, Tonya (David) Garris, and Kourtney Carter, all of Elliott County; four grandchildren, Carter and Makayla Gilliam, Brooklyn and Bricen Garris, and grandson Gilliam on the way.
Other survivors include three brothers, Donald (Paula) Skaggs, Ronald "Jay" (Patti) Skaggs and Wendell (Nikki) Skaggs, all of Morehead, and many beloved nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was a carpenter and enjoyed woodworking, farming, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday, June17, 2016, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Austin Carter officiating. Burial will follow in John Carter Cemetery in Elliott County.
Pallbearers will be Chris, Joshua, Michael, and Kyle Skaggs, Anthony Leadingham, and Adam Randolph. Honorary pallbearers will be Carson Carter, Bricen Garris,
Ricky Skaggs, and Carter Gilliam.
Visitation is after 6 p.m. Thursday, June 16, 2016, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
