Mr. Charles Piper, age 74, of Olive Hill, passed away Wednesday evening, January 10, 2018, at Kingsbrook Lifecare Center in Ashland.
He was born October 16, 1943, in Carter County, a son of the late Arthur and Louise Stephens Piper.
Charles proudly served his country in the United States National Guards and was of the Apostolic faith. He loved spending time with his family, especially with his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Sherry Lynn Piper; one granddaughter, Paige Yarman; and one brother, Robert "Bob" Piper.
Charles is survived by his wife of 37 years, Glenda Matney Piper; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Chuck and Jamie Piper and Bill Piper, all of Olive Hill; one daughter and one son-in-law, Cindy and Keith Yarman of Olive Hill; one stepson, Mark Williams of Louisville; one stepdaughter, Robin Conn of Crane, Missouri; two grandsons, Levi Piper and Chase Yarman, both of Olive Hill; two great grandchildren, Carson Yarman and Karter Yarman, both of Olive Hill; and three step grandchildren. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 13, 2018, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, with Brother Larry Joe Ruley officiating. Burial followed in the Ross Chapel Cemetery in Olive Hill.
Visitation was from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, January 12, 2018, and after 9 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
