Mr. Charles "Tracy" Brown, age 73, of Oldtown, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday morning, August 15, 2017, at Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.
He was born January 13, 1944, in Greenup, the son of the late Jesse and Nella Mae Brown.
Tracy was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church of Oldtown. He was a farmer and logger, this work took him to his love of being outdoors. Charles loved being out in nature, enjoying his work and love for the land. His greatest love was his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Jesse Brown, and one sister, Lois Brown Clark.
Charles is survived by one son, Charles Darwin Brown; one daughter LaDonna LaRue (Larry); two granddaughters, Jessie Rose (Matt) of Lexington and Katie Neill (Timmy) of Ashland; two great grandchildren, Ella Rose of Lexington, and Andrew Neill of Ashland; and one sister, Mary Lou Barker of Oldtown. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
A special thanks to his niece, Debby Felty and his nephew, Ronnie Barker for their love and support during Tracy's time of need.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, August 18, 2017, at the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Oldtown, with Pastor John Lybrooks officiating. Burial will follow in the Brown Cemetery in Oldtown.
Visitation is from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, August 18, 2017, at the church.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
