Mrs. Catharine "Cat" Rene' Fisher, age 57, of Olive Hill, passed away Tuesday evening, Dec. 6, 2016, at Hospice of Hope at Kenton Pointe in Maysville.
She was born Dec. 14, 1958, in Boyd County, a daughter of Margarett Crawford Binion of Olive Hill, and the late Charles R. Fisher Sr. of Morganton, North Carolina.
Cat attended Better Life Church in Morehead, worked for the Burke County Sheriff's Department in Morganton, North Carolina, and retired from the City of Olive Hill as a Grants Administrator. She graduated from West Carter High School, Class of 1976, in Olive Hill. Cat received her Bachelor of Business from Gardner-Webb University, Class of 1989. She pursued her Master's Degree in Criminal Justice from Southern New Hampshire University with certification in Public Administration 2014-2016. She lived and loved with a passion. Fun and laughter were abundant when she was around. Her smile could part a cloudy day. Throughout her battle with cancer she would always have a positive outlook and wasn't afraid to share her love for Jesus. "She is clothed in strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future." Proverbs 31:35
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her step-father, Coadoey Binion; her maternal grandparents, Manford and Elsie Whitt Crawford; and her paternal grandparents, Harlon and Lillian Mae Fisher.
In addition to her mother, Cat is survived by two brothers and one sister-in-law, Choya Binion of Olive Hill, and Charles "Chuck" Fisher and Debbie of Morganton, North Carolina; one sister, Lisa Fisher of Morganton, North Carolina; three uncles, Isaac "Buddy" Fisher and Daleleen, Paul Fisher, and Steve Fisher and Judy; two aunts, Mary Ann Fisher Marrow and Beatrice Fisher Webb and Clyde; two nephews, Eric McKinney and Erin, and Jason McKinney; two nieces, Diana Fisher and Katelyn Fisher; two great nieces, Addison McKinney and Carlee McKinney; and her special friend and companion, Dale Morgan. We will miss our friend, but never forget how she taught us to live and to laugh as long as you have life.
