Mr. Billy "Hugh Bob" McGlone, age 76, of Olive Hill, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday evening, July 21, 2016, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born July 15, 1940, in Carter County, a son of the late Homer and Minne Eden McGlone.
Billy was a member of the First Baptist Church of Olive Hill and retired from the Kentucky State Highway Department after 28 years of service. He was an avid bird hunter and enjoyed watching college basketball, restoring antique automobiles, and spending time with his son and especially his two grandsons.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 18 years, Martha Sue Gabbard McGlone and one infant son, David McGlone.
Billy is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Billy Michael and Jessica McGlone of Pawleys Island, South Carolina; two grandsons, William Andrew McGlone and Quinn Alexander McGlone of South Carolina; one sister, Wilma Jean Bailey of Grayson; and his special friend of many years, Judy Rose. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 25, 2016, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, with Brother David Logsdon and Brother Mike Blankenship officiating. Burial will follow in Garvin Ridge Cemetery in Olive Hill.
Friends may visit from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, July 24, 2016, and until the service hour on Monday at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West Highway US 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky 41164.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
