Billy Gene Bradford, 89 of Grayson went to be with his Lord on Saturday, Sept. 17, 2016 at Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland. Billy was born Jan. 4, 1927 a son of the late Dewey Sr. and Edna Crum Bradford. He served his country in the Army during WW II and retired from Boilermaker Local #667 in Nitro, WV.
He was preceded in death by his wife Maxine Adams Bradford; daughter-in-law, Brenda Bradford; great-grandson, Wyatt Thornberry; five sisters, Mildred Bradford, Ella Francis Jones, Lois Vanhorn, Inella Smith and Susanne Littleton; two brothers, Millard Bradford and Bruce Bradford. Billy survivors include; one son, Mark Bradford of Grayson; a son whom he adopted, Jason Smith; two sisters, Carol Parrish and Sandra Kay Felty both of Grove City, OH; two brothers, Ronald Melvin Bradford of Upper Marlboro, MD and Wayne "Doc" Bradford of Denton; three grandchildren, Kim (Jeff) Clevenger of Grayson, Chris (Brittany) Thornberry of Fredericksburg IN and Kayla (Ben) McGranahan of Olive Hill; three great-grandchildren; Brayden Clevenger, Addison McGranahan and Jaxon Thornberry.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21, at Malone Funeral Home with John Sergent and Chauncy Griffith, ministers. Burial will be in the East Carter County Memory Gardens with military rites. Friends may call from 6:00 - 9:00p.m. Tuesday at Malone Funeral Home.
