Mrs. Beulah Faye Barker Stevens Binion, age 94, of Olive Hill, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday morning, November 23, 2016, at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Kentucky.
She was born October 24, 1922, in Carter County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Millard and Nora Mauk Barker.
Beulah received the Holy Ghost and was baptized in 1948 and continued to serve the Lord for the rest of her life. She was a member of the Limestone Apostolic Church for 60 years serving as Treasurer and Sunday School Teacher. Beulah worked at several sewing factories and was a bus driver and monitor for the Carter County School System. Her passions were church, family, singing, sewing, playing the guitar and organ, and fishing. Beulah had a great sense of humor and loved playing practical jokes on people. She was a very giving, loving, and selfless woman with a beautiful soul, who valued her family, friends, church and God above everything else.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Cledith Stevens; her second husband, Ora Binion; two daughters, Wilmeda Rodgers and Rita Rodgers; three brothers, Garland Barker, Delmane Barker, and Joel Barker; and four sisters, Clara Binion, Thurma Carter, Velda Dunaway, and Cloma Ruley.
Beulah is survived by one daughter, Phyllis Downey of Olive Hill, Kentucky; seven grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; one brother and sister-in-law, Clowell and Kathy Barker of Olive Hill, Kentucky; and two sisters and one brother-in-law, Lou Vada and Glenn Bond of Olive Hill, Kentucky, and Marquetta Shaffer of Grayson, Kentucky. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, November 27, 2016, at the Mills Branch Apostolic Church in Olive Hill, Kentucky, with Brother Larry Joe Ruley officiating. Burial will follow in the Olive Hill Memorial Park in Olive Hill, Kentucky.
Friends may visit from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, November 27, 2016, at the Mills Branch Apostolic Church in Olive Hill, Kentucky.
Joshua Walchle, Colin Montgomery, Steven Rodgers, Brandon Marcum, Cory Musgrave, and Tyler Green will serve as pallbearers.
