Mrs. Betty Lillian Mathis Kiser Honea, age 88, of Olive Hill, passed away Sunday morning, Feb. 12, 2017, at her residence.
She was born Dec. 24, 1928, in Valdosta, Georgia, a daughter of the late Mack and Lennie Gaskin Mathis.
Betty was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed working as a realtor and barber. She loved flowers, shopping for antiques, selling real estate, and spending time with her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband of 11 years, Fenton Kiser; her second husband of 47 years, Ernest Honea; three brothers, Carlton Mathis, Talmadge Mathis, and Cliff Riker; one sister, Eleen Mathis; one daughter-in-law, Phyllis Tackett Kiser; and two grandchildren, Matthew Kiser and Regina Kiser.
Betty is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Edwin Kiser and Spencer and Charlotte Kiser, all of Olive Hill; three daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Timothy Gerstner of Ridgeland, South Carolina, Debra and Larry Rose and Martha Kiser Manning and Dewayne, all of Olive Hill; 20 grandchildren; 58 great grandchildren; and 25 great-great grandchildren. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2017, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, with Brother Bud Burnette and Brother Bobby Day officiating. Burial will follow in the Kiser Cemetery on Highway 986 in Olive Hill.
Friends may visit from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2017, and after 9 a.m. Wednesday at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West Highway US 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky 41164.
Donnie Rose, Chad Manning, Jamie Rose, Rick Kiser, Kyler Hutchinson, Dale Kiser, Les Kiser, Larry Kiser, Donald Rose, Brian Kiser, Adam Marsh, and Mark McCain will serve as pallbearers.
