Betty's Story

Miss Betty Douglas, age 103, of Douglas Hollow Road, Olive Hill, passed away Thursday evening, Dec. 8, 2016, at the Carter Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Grayson.
She was born Sept. 25, 1913, in Carter County, a daughter of the late Clark and Margaret Johnson Douglas.
Betty was a member of the Dry Branch Church of God. She enjoyed quilting, word search puzzles, loved attending church services.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, George Elzie Douglas, James Estill Douglas, three sisters, Eula Wilson, Juel Douglas and Mary Georgie Douglas Cline.
Betty is survived by two nephews and spouse, Roger Cline Sr., and James (Teresa) Douglas all of Olive Hill; one niece, Mary Ann Brown of Clearfield; five great nephews, two great nieces, a host of great-great nieces and nephews; and a very special friend, Jim Adams of Grayson. She also leaves many other family members, Church family and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 11, 2016, at Dry Branch Church of God in Olive Hill, with her nephew Roger Cline, Brother Delmar Logan Jr., and Brother Gayle Price officiating. Burial will follow in the Bowen Chapel Cemetery in Olive Hill.
Friends may visit from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, 2016, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill. Miss Douglas will lie in state one hour prior to the service hour on Sunday, December 10, 2016, at the Dry Branch Church of God in Olive Hill.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, family requested donations be made to the Gideon International P.O. Box 931 Olive Hill, Kentucky 41164 or Carter Nursing Activity Fund in Grayson, Kentucky, in memory of Miss Betty Douglas.
