Mrs. Betty Valentine Blankenship, age 91, of Olive Hill, passed away Wednesday morning, April 12, 2017, at Carter Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Grayson.
She was born Dec. 9, 1925, in Ruby, Arkansas, a daughter of the late Kermit Valentine and Audrey Opal Sehmour.
Betty was of the Christian faith and was a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, working in her flowers, canning, and spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ted Hershel Blankenship, and her mother-in-law, Laura Rice Blankenship Bego.
Betty is survived by two sons, David Winward of Kansas, and John Glaze of Texas; one daughter, Ruth Jameson of Texas; six grandchildren; three brothers; and one sister-in-law, Donna (Donny) Owens of Olive Hill. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 14, 2017, at the Rice Cemetery in Olive Hill, with Brother Rex Sagraves officiating.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
