Mr. Bernard Ray "Joe" Henderson, age 73, of Columbus, Ohio, formerly of Olive Hill, passed away Thursday evening, June 22, 2017, at Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth, Ohio.
He was born September 22, 1943, in Charleston, West Virginia, a son of the late Theodore and Virginia Lawson Henderson.
Joe was of the Protestant faith and proudly served our country in the United States Air Force. He enjoyed working, painting, helping others, and attending church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, of 47 years, Dianna Katherine Witt Henderson; one son, James Bryan Henderson; one daughter, Jeanine Katherine Henderson; and three brothers, Arthur "Art" Henderson, Azel "Whistle" Laverne Henderson, and Edward "Mike" Henderson.
Joe is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Bernard "Joey" Henderson Jr. (Sebrina) of Columbus, Ohio, and Dennis Henderson (Angela) of Clarksburg, Ohio; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one brother, Oscar "Bud" Henderson (Betty) of Columbus, Ohio; and two sisters, Kathy Urbanik (Ted) of Grove City, Ohio, and Nedra Waugh of Olive Hill. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 27, 2017, at Oney-Henderson Funeral Home with Brother Rick Henderson officiating. Burial will follow in the Henderson Cemetery on Route 59 in Olive Hill.
Visitation is 12 noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
