Arlie's Story

Mr. Arlie Clay Stevens, age 55, of Olive Hill, passed away Tuesday morning, March 21, 2017, at his residence.
He was born May 13, 1961, in Grayson, a son of the late James Edgar "Jim" and Zella Maire Smith Stevens.
Arlie attended Providence Freewill Baptist Church and was retired from the Painters Union Local #1072 in Ashland. He enjoyed working on old cars, fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Randy Stevens and Earnie Stevens; two sisters-in-law, Pam Stevens and Donna Stevens; and one niece, Chelsa Stevens.
Arlie is survived by his companion of 20 years, Betty Barker; one daughter and son-in-law, Allison and John Stephens of Olive Hill; one step-son, Jonathon Easterling of Olive Hill; three grandchildren, Kyser Stephens, Parker Stephens, and Amber Easterling; three step-grandchildren, Timothy Easterling, Jazmine Easterling, and Wyatt Easterling; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Jimmy and Terri Stevens, Allen and Kim Stevens, and Billy and Kelly Stevens, all of Olive Hill, and Joe and Tina Stevens of Morehead; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Mona and Bob Barker and Michelle and D.J. Carroll, all of Olive Hill; one special aunt, Oma Lee Frazier of Olive Hill; and several nieces and nephews. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, March 24, 2017, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, with Brother Bobby Day and Brother Kenneth Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow in the Stevens Family Cemetery in Olive Hill.
Friends may visit from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, March 23, 2017, and after 9 a.m. Friday at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West Highway US 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky 41164.
Tommy Valandingham, Tommy Kiser, Randy Stevens, Ray Boggs, Austin Wagoner, and Doug Musgrave will serve as pallbearers. Mike Roseberry, Jack Stamper, Gary Stevens, Carson Holbrook, and Carlos Kiser will serve as honorary pallbearers.
