Annabelle Claxon, 78, of Grayson, passed away Thursday, Feb. 16, 2017 at the Carter Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Grayson. She was born Feb. 23, 1938 in Grayson; a daughter of the late Matthew and Lucy Hutchinson Sparks.
She was a retired cook and teachers aid at Prichard Elementary. She was member of the New Hope Church of God of Prophesy.
In addition to her husband, James Burton Claxon; she is preceded in death by a son, Lyndon Patrick "Packy" Claxon, and several brothers and sisters.
She is survived by two sons, James Robert (Loretta) Claxon and Danny (Cheri) Claxon both of Grayson; a daughter, Sue (Wayne) Sparks of Grayson; a grandson whom she had raised, Kyle Claxon; a brother Ellis Sparks of Tennessee; and two sisters, Shirley Prichard of Olive Hill; and Loretta Sherman of Hitchins; ten grandchildren; twenty-nine great- grandchildren; and a great- great- grandson.
Funeral services were Monday, Feb. 20, 2017 at 1:00p.m. at the Sparks Funeral Home in Grayson, Joe Hutchison, minister. Burial followed in the Cribbs Hill Cemetery.
Visitation was Sunday, Feb. 19, 2017 6:00p.m.-9:00p.m. at the Sparks Funeral Home.
