America Elizabeth Sexton


What a day that will be when my Jesus, I shall see. Our beloved mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother, America Elizabeth Wright Sexton, 89, of Rush went to be home with her Lord. On Monday, January 21, 2019, her hope and faith was made sight when America entered her brand new heavenly home.
She was the daughter of the late Charles and Madeline Holly Wright.
She was a member of the Wilson Creek Missionary Baptist Church and the women's prayer group. She retired from Cinderella Sewing in Ashland.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth T. Sexton, and one brother, Charles William Wright.
She is survived by two sons, Kenneth Wayne Sexton (Renata) of Rush and Dennis Eugene Sexton (Patricia) of Rush; four grandchildren Rebecca Sexton Crum (Lauren) of Carter City; Brent Eugene Sexton (April) of Grayson; K.W. Sexton II (Belicia) of Grayson; Lacee Sexton Blevins (Jason) of Cannonsburg. She has ten great-grandchildren: Owen, Abby, Cadee, Cole, Jaxson, Knox, Emerson, Kellen, Candace, and Amber; three sisters, Ruth Burns of Catlettsburg KY, Maggie Mae Hicks (Ralph) and Mary Ellen Davis both of Ashland KY.
A Celebration of her life was conducted Friday, January 25th 1:00 p.m. at Wilson Creek Missionary Baptist Church with burial followed at the East Carter County Memory Gardens. Friends called Friday, January 25th from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Wilson Creek Missionary Baptist Church.
We know and trust in the Lord that we will join her by and by. "I am the resurrection and the life; he that believeth in me though he were dead, yet he will live."
Malone Funeral Home was in charge of services.
